Terms of use
Last updated 2 November 2026
These terms cover the Legato apps and this website. Legato is provided by Empire Software Ltd (registered in England and Wales, company number 14800561, registered office Suite A, 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Suffolk IP28 7DE, United Kingdom) (“we”). By using Legato you agree to them.
1. Legato is a player
Legato doesn’t provide any channels, films or other content. It plays streams from a provider you choose and subscribe to yourself. We don’t sell, recommend or endorse any provider or playlist, and we aren’t affiliated with any.
2. Your subscription must be lawful
You may only use Legato with a subscription and content you have the right to watch. You’re responsible for your provider account, for what you play, and for following the law where you live. Your provider’s own terms apply to their service; questions about it, its channels or its billing go to them.
3. Using Legato
The Legato player is free for personal use. Please don’t misuse it: no attempts to break its security, to get around Legato Sync’s subscription, or to use it to harm others. We may stop providing Sync to an account that does.
4. Legato Sync
Legato Sync (coming) is an optional paid subscription, monthly or yearly, or a one-off lifetime purchase. It’s sold through the App Store, Google Play or the Amazon Appstore, or on our website for the desktop apps, and that store’s terms cover payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds. Subscriptions renew until you cancel them in the store where you bought them. If Sync lapses, the app carries on working on each device with what it has.
5. Beta versions
Test builds are early and may have bugs, change or stop working. Please report problems so we can fix them.
6. No warranty
Legato is provided “as is”. We work hard to make it fast and reliable, but we can’t promise it will always work, work with every provider or stream, or be free of errors. Playback depends on your provider and your connection, which we don’t control.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for losses arising from your use of Legato, from your provider or its content, or from something we couldn’t reasonably foresee or control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
8. Changes and law
We may update these terms; we’ll change the date above and, for anything significant, tell you in the app. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Your privacy is covered by the privacy policy.
